TheExperts™ and Heavy Labs announce strategic technology partnership

Partnership will combine AI with generations of field experience to preserve industrial knowledge and improve critical infrastructure

NEW YORK, September 29, 2026 — TheExperts™ and Heavy Labs today announced a strategic technology partnership designed to bring decades of power-generation and industrial knowledge into the digital world.

TheExperts™ is a network of 66 specialized companies and hundreds of experienced professionals serving the power-generation and infrastructure industries. Its members have spent their careers operating plants, repairing equipment, executing outages, solving failures, correcting design flaws and improving the systems on which modern life depends.

Heavy Labs, through its HeavyOps AI platform, develops artificial-intelligence technology that connects plant information, operational data, equipment history and human knowledge so industrial organizations can understand problems faster and make better-informed decisions.

The partnership brings those capabilities together. Heavy Labs will serve as a strategic technology partner to TheExperts™, working product by product to transform selected intellectual property, operating methods and industry knowledge developed by Jay Sikora and TheExperts™ into practical digital products. The companies expect to announce the first product initiative resulting from the partnership in the coming weeks.

Every product developed through the partnership will be centered on two purposes:

  • Preserving and transferring the knowledge accumulated by experienced operators, maintainers, engineers and field-service professionals
  • Improving the performance, reliability and economic value of power plants and other critical infrastructure through AI directed by experienced industry professionals

The premise is straightforward: AI should not replace industrial experience. It should make that experience easier to find, easier to transfer and available at the moment it is needed.

“Power plants do not suffer from a shortage of information. They suffer because the right drawing, manual, operating history, supplier or experienced person is often difficult to find when the plant needs an answer. TheExperts™ has spent years bringing those people and that knowledge together. Heavy Labs gives us the technological capability to make that knowledge available every day, not merely when the right person happens to be in the room.”

“We are not asking artificial intelligence to replace experience. We are putting experience in a position to direct artificial intelligence. The field veterans remain TheExperts™. The technology helps their knowledge travel farther, work faster and remain useful for the next generation.”

Jay Sikora, founder, TheExperts™

The collaboration is expected to draw upon TheExperts’ network of specialized companies, Jay Sikora’s portfolio of power-industry intellectual property and Heavy Labs’ capabilities in industrial knowledge graphs, AI, plant-data integration and agent-directed analysis.

Rather than attempting to digitize everything at once, the partnership will proceed one product at a time. Each initiative will begin with a defined industry problem, a practical product, measurable deliverables and direct validation by experienced field professionals.

“Industrial organizations already possess enormous amounts of valuable information, but much of it remains divided among documents, control systems, maintenance records and the memories of experienced people. By combining TheExperts’ extraordinary depth of operating experience with HeavyOps technology, we have an opportunity to turn that information into usable, enduring industrial intelligence.”

Chris E. Choe, CEO and co-founder, Heavy Labs

The partnership is expected to explore products supporting:

  • Knowledge retention and workforce development
  • Equipment identification and technical-document retrieval
  • Plant and equipment databases
  • Preventive-maintenance and spare-parts intelligence
  • Power-plant performance and operating excellence
  • Technical troubleshooting and expert access
  • Purchasing and supply-chain improvement
  • AI-assisted plant operations and management

The long-term opportunity is larger than software. It is the creation of an industrial knowledge system in which the experience of one generation is not lost when people retire, the answer to a plant problem is not trapped in a filing cabinet, and AI is guided by the people who understand what happens when theory meets the field.

Knowledge should never retire.
